Leadership – Sky Business Consulting

Mr. Jonathan Minsky, Managing Director
Jonathan has an extensive background in management consulting and change management. Prior to founding Sky Business Consulting, Jonathan held leadership roles at PwC, IBM and Direct Energy. He is a proven project leader with over 13 years of experience as an internal and external consultant. Jonathan has an in-depth understanding of key business issues, customer operations experience and has strong expertise in business process analysis, testing and training methodologies. Jonathan holds an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

 

Leadership – Sky Energy Consulting

Ms. Dacia Rohlehr, Managing Director
Dacia Rohlehr is a co-founder and principal at Sky Energy Consulting. She is an energy industry expert with 13 years of experience in the North American market. Her career in the energy sector commenced, in corporate finance, with the financial restructuring of Ontario Hydro. She was a key contributor to the development of the White Paper entitled “Direction for Change: Charting a Course for Competitive Electricity and Jobs in Ontario”. In 2000, Dacia established DJR & Associates Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the energy sector and has operated the company successfully since its inception 10 years ago. She has undertaken many significant engagements in the sector including the implementation of the Ontario retail electricity market, green energy financings, establishment of the registration and enrolment process for the Province of Ontario Meter Data Management Repository (MDM/R), successful enrolment and project management of the initial LDCs with the MDM/R, business process reengineering, operational business planning and financial advisory services for a number of electricity market participants. Clients have included the Ontario Energy Board, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Independent Electricity System Operator, Ontario Infrastructure, IBM, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, biomass and wind energy generators, transmission companies, LDCs and Municipal organizations.

Dacia has significant technical and financial knowledge related to the energy sector. She has worked extensively with public and private sector organizations and has an in-depth understanding of the operations and overall businesses of utilities. Dacia holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance degree, an International Master in Business Administration, the Canadian Securities Course and is a Chartered Financial Analyst Level 2 Candidate.

Mr. Jonathan Minsky, Managing Director
Jonathan Minsky is a co-founder and principal at Sky Energy Consulting. Jonathan has over 13 years experience as an external and internal consultant in the Energy industry. He has strong expertise in change and project management and possesses a unique ability to work closely with all types of business stakeholders. As Senior Manager of Change Management at Direct Energy (DE) for over two years, Jonathan managed the performance of up to 24 business analysts supporting projects for DE’s Group Operations, including Enrolment, Billing, Remittance, Contact Centre, and Credit & Collections.

Jonathan’s team supported projects that ensured regulatory compliance, improved operational effectiveness, enhanced customer experiences and grew the DE customer base. He was also the business lead for the outsourcing of DE’s Texas operations functions.

Jonathan was one of the key members of the OEB Retail Market Readiness team during the electricity market opening. He managed a subset of the retail market tests, managed CIS and hub readiness, and developed action plans for key market opening issues. In Jonathan’s 7 years with PwC Consulting and IBM, he also led initiatives to prepare Hydro Ottawa for market opening and led a system test team during a CIS implementation with Enbridge Gas Distribution.

Jonathan has an in-depth understanding of the Ontario electricity market, customer operations experience and has strong expertise in business process analysis, testing and training methodologies. Jonathan holds an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.


Mr. Ralph Gardiner, Director

Ralph joined the leadership team for Sky Energy Consulting in May, 2010. He is responsible for initiating the Sky Customer Information System Service Offering and managing strategic partnerships and key client accounts.

As a 20-year industry veteran, Mr. Gardiner has performed Branch Operations management and Industry Practice leadership in the management consulting and systems integration services business. Specializing in the Energy & Utilities (E&U) industry over the past 14 years, he has been the lead partner of the Canadian E&U practice at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM, accountable for the group's financial success and steady growth. He has led major business transformational initiatives for utility clients, and focuses on the provision of system and process solutions that deliver optimum business results.



Advisory Board

Ms. Pamela Nowina
Pamela Nowina is a senior executive with extensive corporate and public sector experience in Ontario’s energy industry. Ms. Nowina currently sits on the board, the audit committee and the regulatory affairs committee of the Electrical Safety Authority. She is also an associate of Elenchus. Ms. Nowina retired as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) in March 2010. Ms. Nowina was appointed to the OEB in 2004. Prior to joining the OEB, Ms. Nowina was a partner with IBM Business Consulting Services. IBM acquired PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting where Ms. Nowina was partner in PwC’s Energy Practice. As a leader in the Canadian Energy practice, Ms. Nowina had a strong background in natural gas and electricity markets. She was responsible for the Energy Strategy practice for Canada.

Mr. Ralph Gardiner

Mr. Gordon Fife
Mr. Fife is the Chief Executive Officer of McGuffin Partners, a business strategy and asset management company. He has over twenty-five years of management experience in a variety of industries. As Executive Vice President of Barrick Gold Corporation, he was responsible for the company’s operating strategy, business structure, merger integration and lean manufacturing. Mr. Fife was a principle with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their strategic change practice, where he worked on business transformations, restructurings, turnarounds, and merger integrations.

Mr. Rod Hooktwith
Mr. Hooktwith has had a 30-year career working with large corporations, such as Hudson's Bay, CIBC, AT&T Canada, Direct Energy in customer care and back office operations. He has extensive experience in business process outsourcing, business continuity & disaster recovery planning, corporate quality initiatives and change management processes. Mr. Hooktwith has significant experience in start-up companies addressing deregulated markets such as Telecom and Retail Energy. Currently, he is president of an investment firm specializing in consumer non-performing loan portfolios.
