Direct Energy Case Study

”The Sky Project Manager was an integral part of the success of this project. The leadership qualities and skill sets of the PM significantly reduced ramp time.

Ric Forster, Director, Process Engineering, Direct Energy

Project Scope:
to integrate a newly acquired Appliance Service Business into Direct Energy operations, developing new installation, service and warranty partnerships with cross-Canada vendors and manufacturers. This product included more than 100 employees, 75 service vehicles, facility relocation, systems integration, payroll, benefit and pension transition, server upgrades, application support agreements, outsourcing call taking to an external vendor, etc.

Project Results:
the Sky team started with pre-acquisition, defined the charter and tasks required up to the legal acquisition date, and completed the integration of fleet and IS systems, people and business processes within Direct Energy’s operations. Sky successfully managed all critical tasks, conducted integration scope working sessions, established work streams and saw the project through to completion with a closeout report – all achieved by approved dates and within budget.

Rina Mancini, Vice-President, Credit Operations, Rogers Communications Inc.

Project Scope:
to holistically assess how all customer-facing collection functions are currently performed by first and third party collection vendors and credit bureaus across each line of business, and identify potential process improvement opportunities.

Project Results:
the Sky team was responsible for establishing all aspects of the plan, leading the project team and producing deliverables over a nine-month period. A total of 192 business processes were documented; 101 potential improvement opportunities were identified addressing inefficiencies and high-risk areas. Sky’s efforts fostered a culture of “manage by process” throughout Credit Operations, in order to more effectively and consistently manage change in the future.
